It was my birthday on Tuesday and as a surprise Kris (my boyfriend) had planned for us to go away for 2 nights. When we left on Wednesday i had no idea where we were going. Finally as we got closer to our destination i realised we were going Newcastle, Geordie land. What a nice surprise he had planned (makes a change) :) so i thought id share a few snaps from our 2 amazing nights away.

How to clean your make up brushes

14:11 0 Comments A+ a-

It is something we all forget to do, but deep cleaning our make up brushes is a must! And i dont mean a quick clean with brush cleaner. I mean the full works, the whole hog, all out. Your make up brushes gather dust and can carry bacteria, so when the brush touches your make up your spreading bacteria and dirt on your make up which causes them shiny patches on your powders. Then you are applying the brush to your face and spreading the bacteria on there. As you do this daily more and more bacteria gets added and spreaded, so to prevent this you NEED to deep clean your brushes on a regular basis like once a week. I find sundays are best.
So here is how i give my make up brushes a deep clean.

  1. I begin by running my brushes under lukewarm water (cleaning one brush at a time) dont let them get too wet.
  2. Apply a small amount (blob) of a mild shampoo onto the bristles, Johnsons baby shampoo is great,
  3. Massage the brush on the palm of your hand in circular motions. If you need to add more water then do so.
  4. As the brush gets cleaner you need to gently squeeze the bristles from root to tip to help remove the make up left behind.
  5. Repeat these processes if necessary, until your brushes are clean.
  6. Leave to air dry on a flat surface.
What method do you use? How regularly do you clean your brushes?

Top 5 summer nail polish

13:20 0 Comments A+ a-

Summer is here, yay! What better time to treat yourself to a mani/pedi or give yourself one at home. (thats what i always do) I tend to stick to pink/corals/orange nail polish throughout summer, i find they are more summery colours and well... Pink is my favourite colour. I do find though that they really suit my skin colour aswell, whereas nudes or paler colours make my skin look washed out and yacky! So here are my top 5 summer nail polishes.

1. Loreal color riche - Energetic tangerine
2. Loreal color riche - Shocking pink
3. Loreal color riche - Ingenuous rose
4. China glaze - Thistle do nicely
5.Maybelline colour show - Pink shock

What colours do you like to use for summer? Do you have a favourite brand of nail polish?
Let me know in the comments :)

Review: Maxfactor Excess Shimmer

18:51 0 Comments A+ a-

Oh my god this Maxfactor excess shimmer in bronze has been my go to eyeshadow for the last few weeks, i love the colour! Its a creamy formula that is very pigmented and buildable, It is easy to apply ( use your fingers) and compact, perfect for your handbag rather than a huge palette, though it will last you a long time ( a little really does go a long way). The bronze shade complements my eye colour (green) nicely. I would say its good value for money aswell at 7.99. I got mine on offer at boots i think it was. Highly recommend this if your lazy like me for the convenience but also its just a really nice product that i think lasts aswell. I havent tried the maybelline colour tattoo but im sure its just the same thing.
Have you tried any new products recently that your loving? comment and let me know.

Easy chocolate shapes

14:06 0 Comments A+ a-

Sam asked me to make her some chocolates so i thought id share with you what i made and how easy it is to make them. They look really cute and are perfect for when friends or family come round, as they take no time at all to make you have just got to wait till they harden. You could even add them to ice cream at BBQs if you fancy.

Alls you need is your favourite chocolate  (i went for milky bar) i used 3 big bars for 3 mould trays
Sprinkles of any kind
Chocolate moulds of any shape

  1. Melt all your chocolate in a bowl over a pan of boiling water.
  2. Pour some sprinkles into the bottom of your moulds, be careful not to add to much.
  3. Add the melted chocolate to the moulds carefully, trying not to waste any of that yummy chocolate.
  4. Wait for the chocolate to harden in the fridge
  5. Enjoy!!!

I hope you try these they are so easy and simple and taste delicious too! <3
