February Favourites!

17:01 0 Comments A+ a-

I cant believe we have reached the end of February already. Since its the end of the month i have put together some of my monthly favourites. They mostly consist of beauty and skin care products but the rest are just random things i have loved using.

\

My first two products i had to include were Soap and Glory's Hand Food and The Righteous Butter. I have used these pretty much everyday and absolutely love them. If you want to see more detail about them then check out my previous post Discovering Soap and Glory

Since January i have been loving wearing nude nail polish and the one that has been my go to is Loreal's Rose Bagatelle. I love that its a pinkish nude and goes well with my skin tone.

Obviously i was going to add the Stila Soul palette to this favourites post. I've been wearing it everyday since i got it, i love it that much. If you want to read more i have previously wrote a review on it Review: Stila eyes are the window soul palette

I have never used Dove's purely pampering body wash with pistachio cream and magnolia before and i can tell you it smells amazing. I like to use this kind of scent in the shower its sweet but fresh and smells delish!

Now onto the non beauty and skin care products.
Changing my hair colour to purple  is something ive wanted to do for a while. I used to have it purple about 5 years ago and loved it! So i decided to take the plunge again and im glad that i did. The only down side to the purple is that it fades pretty quick so you need to make sure you can keep on top of it.

Lastly i have been playing Dragon Mania Legends, which is a phone app. Its probably a kids game but ive loved playing it. You breed, fight and hatch dragons, its really good, you should try it.

What have you been loving lately?
What apps do you like to use?

Discovering Soap and Glory

17:00 0 Comments A+ a-

After lusting over Soap and Glory products for years now, i have finally been introduced to some of their products. After trying them out i don't know why i hadn't got them sooner. They are amazing!

Two products i have been using religiously are Hand Food and The Righteous Butter.

Every night before bed i will apply hand food and it leaves my hands super soft. My hands have felt very dry lately because of the cold weather and since using this my dry skin has cleared up. I love how this smells aswell, very subtle.

I'm always on the look out for moisturisers and after seeing so many people using Soap and Glory's The Righteous Butter i thought i would give it a go myself. And oh my, its so thick and creamy and nourishing. I love it! I apply it after every shower and its amazing! It leaves my skin soft and smelling great.

If you haven't used Soap and Glory products before i would definitely recommend you do try them. They are amazing!

What are your favourite Soap and Glory products? What skin care products are you loving at the moment?

So when i visited my family on Saturday my sister asked me if i wanted to try her favourite smoothie, and because im trying to eat healthy i thought why not, i enjoyed my last smoothie we made together so ill give this one a try. This is a recipe she came up with herself and as her name is Kelly thats what she named it. This smoothie is absolutely amazing! so much nicer than the previous one i had, i think its because this one was more of a creamier consistency. I loved it soo much i just had to share the recipe with you and i hope you enjoy it as much as i did.

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 3 strawberries
  • Mango chunks
  • Almond milk
Method
Firstly you need to chop your fruit into chunks, place in the blender and fill up to the max line with almond milk. Blitz and then pour and your smoothie is ready to enjoy. I do find that they taste best when chilled.

Now i don't know about you guys but i for one struggle to eat healthy. But i am determined to do it, so i've started off day 1 of healthy eating by making an apple burst smoothie. Maybe if you want to kick start a healthy diet you to could try making smoothies as a way of getting your 5 a day.
I borrowed my sisters nutri bullet and followed one of her smoothie recipes. Im not usually a smoothie person but i really enjoyed this one and plus its full of fruit. Here is the recipe and how i made it if you want to try for yourselves.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • 1/2 a banana
  • 1/4 tub of low fat natural yoghurt
  • Apple/orange juice
  • Handful of mixed berries ( i chose strawberries and blueberries)
Method
Chop the apple into quarters and core. Chop the banana also. Add all the fruit to a blender along with the yoghurt and  fill the rest of the container with apple/orange juice until you get about two thirds of the way up. Blitz until its your desired consistency.

What is your favourite kind of smoothie? Do you have any healthy eating tips?

My night time routine

16:59 0 Comments A+ a-

I love reading other blogs about people's routines, whether it be a skin care or hair care routine. I think its because i like to be nosey and see what products they use to see if they have used anything that i haven't tried yet and like the look of. I also like to see how people do things and in what order they use their products. So this post is going to be one of them routine posts that i hope some of you will enjoy reading like i do.

First off i remove my eye make up with Garnier micellar wipes. They are very gentle on my sensitive eyes. Which is why i like using them. I'm the type of person that doesn't like getting anything in my eyes so every time i have a shower i have to have a towel on hand to wipe any shampoo/water off my forehead because im scared of it getting in my eyes.
After that i use the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm with the muslin cloth to remove the rest of my make up. I love how clean your face feels after using it. So refreshing!
I have then been using Avon's Anew essentials youth maximising serum. Now this is only a small size tube but i think im definitely going to get the full size version now because ive run out :(
This is followed by the body shops Aloe Soothing night cream, which is great on my sensitive skin and leaves my face super soft also.
After finishing up my skin i then proceed to brush my teeth.
And finally i get into my Pjs, climb into bed, and have one last look through my social media and drift off for the night.

What is your night time routine? What skin care products do you use at night?

Perfect for those of you who dont know what to buy your loved one this valentines. Plus they don't take long and are easy to make. I personally love baking for valentines day, so simple but thoughtful at the same time.

  • 50g caster sugar
  • 175g plain flour
  • You can also choose to add flavourings aswell, whether it be vanilla or lemon
Method
  1. Pre heat the oven to 150 degrees
  2. Mix together the butter and sugar until its light and fluffy
  3. Add flavourings of your choice if wanted and stir in the flour. Make sure you mix it well.
  4. Roll out to 5mm thick and cut out your desired shape using cookie cutters. I went for hearts for valentines day.
  5. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Leave to cool and decorate how you want.
I'm not very good at decorating but that doesn't matter, its the thought that counts and the effort you have put into it.
