Book Review : All The Bright Places

Alright so this is a first for me, a review on a book. I felt like i just had to though.
The book is called All The Bright Places, it is like the next 'The Fault in our Stars' it is a real eye opening book.
The book is about a teenage boy and girl who are both struggling with their lives.
Theodore Finch is always coming up with ways he might kill himself and that is how he meets Violet Markey, one of the popular girls, up on the bell tower at school. Finch encourages Violet to climb down and this is where their adventure begins.
Violet can't seem to escape her grief from her sisters death, she blames herself for the accident and life just doesn't feel the same without her.
When Finch and Violet are paired together on a school project to discover their state, they start to fall for each other and while Violet starts to live her life Finch retreats into himself, hiding away from the world. Until one day he goes missing.
This book really gets you thinking, you don't know what is going on in anyone's life. You don't know what they're thinking or feeling. A truly amazing book about mental illness. I could kind of act the book out in my head as i was reading it. I would totally recommend this book it is amazing!

2 lip products

I've been loving two of  my lip products so much lately, especially this last month. If you have seen some of my other blog posts http://missshortstuff91.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/spring-make-up-look.html orhttp://missshortstuff91.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/april-favourites.html that I've recently posted you will probably know by now how much i love them. As im writing this I'm listening to Sclub7 They were and still are my favourite childhood band and i still love listening to them and enjoy belting out a song or too (although im sure my singing isn't appreciated haha)
The products i am on about of course are the Rimmel 1000 kisses lip liner and Avon ultra colour lipstick.
The Rimmel lip liner in rose quartz isn't sold any more and i cant believe it because its such a flattering and neutral pinky colour that is very versatile. I am quite fair skinned and find some nude colours wash me out too much, but this doesn't it is just the perfect shade, i think its because its little darker than your normal nude. The lip liner glides on really well with minimal effort. I also love how much fuller my lips look, definitely going to be wearing lip liner more often!
The Avon ultra colour lipstick in pout is a kind of subtle light pink shade which i think is great for this time of year, especially for wearing during the day. It has a creamy texture and makes your lips feel moisturised without making them feel sticky. Its really light and comfortable to wear and it goes really well with my purple hair. I'm having trouble finding lipsticks that will go with it and this one does, really well in fact. I absolutely love the colour.
Paired with the Rimmel lip liner you have an amazing lip duo. They compliment each other so well.

Do you struggle to find lip colours to suit you? What Spring lip colour are you using?

April favourites

Sorry this post is a little late guys!!

I had a few favourites throughout April. If you regularly visit my page you will of seen me rave already about some of my favourites for April, so im not going to go into too much detail. Here is a link to my previous blog post where i have used some of these favourites.http://missshortstuff91.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/spring-make-up-look.html

I think im going to start off by sharing my beauty favourites first.
Surprise surprise the naked 2 palette is back. I'm sorry, i love it so much and have used it all month that its only right that i put it back into another favourites.
Also love the Rimmel 1000 kisses lip liner in rose quartz and the Avon ultra colour lipstick in pout so much. The colours are so nice and Springy (i think ive just made that word up) and go together so well. The lip liner has made my lips look much fuller too (bonus)!
I dont usually use powder, but this month i've really enjoyed using the collection loose powder, ive used it so much. It has helped to keep my make up in place, which is really needed at this time of the year when we start to get a bit sweaty because of all the nice weather we've been having.
This next item is more skin/body care. Dove summer glow nourishing lotion fair to medium skin. I;m fed up of looking pale so this month started using this a lot more and it made my skin look so much more healthier.
Then we have my OGX thick & full biotin collagen shampoo and conditioner. I am always looking for products that will give my hair volume and these two dont disappoint. They give my hair so much lift and smell amazing too. The only thing i dont like about OGX shampoos and conditioners is that i struggle getting the product out of the bottle. Does anyone else have this problem? or is it just me?

Now lets move on to my two non beauty favourites.
First i am absolutely loving Pretty Little Liars! I know i am sooo late in watching it. I have to binge watch it because its soo good. It means that sometimes i can get through ten episodes a day. Is that bad? I think im half way through series 2 and i have no idea who might of killed A! Please no spoilers!
Finally i rediscovered my love for reading. I went away recently with Kristopher to Cornwall for 5 days and managed to read a whole book! I'm so proud of myself. I think the last book i read before that was the last 50 shades book. I have even gone and bought myself some more books which i dont normally do. Let me know if you come across a good read that you think i might enjoy.

What have you been loving this month? Are you a series binge watcher like me?

Spring make up look

17:00 0 Comments A+ a-

Throughout this month i've been wearing the same make up look most days and im really liking it at the moment so i thought i'd share with you the products i've been using to create the look.
On my face:
For my foundation i've been using Bourjois healthy mix in light vanilla, this foundation is great for people with dry skin like me i find it so lightweight even though its medium coverage. I apply this using my real techniques face brush and just buff it into my skin.

For my concealer i've been using the Collection lasting perfection concealer in fair, this is an amazing concealer one i always repurchase, it gives me great coverage under my eyes and when i breakout. I use the Zoeva concealer brush to apply this and they work great together.

For my blush ive been using the Avon ideal luminous blush in peach, i love the colour pay off from this its very buildable and it also gives a nice subtle glow perfect for Spring. I use my real techniques blush brush to apply this to the apples of my cheeks.

For my powder i've been using the Collection sheer loose powder in translucent, it helps to set my make up in place and makes my skin look flawless. I use my real techniques setting brush to apply this but before i apply it i make sure i get rid of any excess powder on the brush otherwise it will look cakey and cling to my dry skin.

On my eyes:
For my eyebrows ive been using the Loreal Paris brow artist genius kit in medium to dark. This lasts all day!! Yeah you heard right all day. Its sooo good. It has great colour pay off and i love the fact you get a mini set of tweezers and mini brow brush (soooo cute).
I use my real techniques brow brush to apply this.

For my eyeshadow base i've been using the Avon eyeshadow primer in light beige, this makes all the difference for me, if i don't use this my eyeshadow will be all over the place and i also have very dark eyelids so this helps to brighten them up. I apply this using my fingers.

For my eyeshadow i've been using the Naked 2 palette, for my inner lid i've been using suspect, followed by snakebite on my upper lid. I use my real techniques base shadow brush to apply these two colours, then on my crease i apply tease and ydk and buff in using my real techniques deluxe crease brush. I then use blackout on the outer corners of my eyes and apply using one end of the naked 2 brush. After that i buff it in with my deluxe crease brush again. Finally with a cleaned base shadow brush i use foxy to help blend my shadow out and then apply bootycall on the inside corners of my eyes.

For my eyeliner i've been using the Loreal Paris super liner black 'n' sculpt in black. I find felt tip liners so much easier to use and this one is amazing. I apply a thin line across my upper lash line.

For my mascara i've been using the Maybelline push up drama mascara in black, i always buy Maybelline mascaras i don't know what it is but i don't like the formulas of other mascara, im always trying out Maybelline's newest mascara and this is why i bought this, okay it doesn't do exactly what it says but what product does? But it is a good mascara non the less.

On my lips:
For my lipliner ive been using the Rimmel 1000 kisses lipliner in rose quartz, i don't think this shade is sold any more, its a pinky, peachy nude colour, a really lovely shade. I apply this just around the outline of my lips. I never usually apply lipliner but after using this im definitely going to make  more of an effort to do so as it makes such a difference, my lips look so much fuller.

For my lipstick i've been using the Avon ultra colour lipstick in pout. I love the sheen of this lipstick and how it makes your lips feel nourished. Its a super wearable shade and is perfect for this time of year. I love wearing this and the Rimmel lipliner together they go so well with each other.

What is your go to Spring make up look? I'd love to know what lip products you use. Let me know in the comments because i might just have to try them out.
